Gillson Beach has always been more than just a destination. It is a place you return to, a beach shaped by Lake Michigan that carries the same sense of ease, reflection, and familiarity each season.

For me, Gillson Beach has been that place for as long as I can remember.

Gillson Beach was created to reflect that feeling and to carry a piece of it with you wherever life takes you.

Along the Wilmette Shore

Gillson Beach has anchored Wilmette’s shoreline since the early twentieth century. Originally developed as part of the village’s lakefront vision, the beach quickly became a seasonal gathering place defined by routine, tradition, and return.

Through decades of change, it has remained a steady presence along the North Shore, familiar in character and consistent in purpose.

Rooted in WIlmette

Growing up coming to Gillson Beach, it was where summers unfolded. It was where time seemed to move a little slower and where many of my earliest memories of relaxation and fun took shape.

As the years passed, the beach remained a constant. Now I bring my own family here. Watching my children experience the same shoreline made something clear to me. Gillson Beach deserved a thoughtful and lasting expression of its own.

The Original Gillson Beach Collection

Gillson Beach was created as an original expression of this shoreline. There was not an existing idea of what Gillson Beach wear should be, so we set out to design something that felt right for the place itself.

The goal has always been simple. Create elevated, well made pieces that feel natural to wear and easy to return to. Nothing loud or forced. Just timeless designs shaped by the rhythm of the beach and the life around it.

Built to Be Worn Well

Before launching Gillson Beach, we spent time testing and wearing garments from a wide range of manufacturers. We paid close attention to fit, fabric, durability, and how each piece felt after repeated wear.

The result is apparel that holds its shape, softens with time, and feels right from the first day.

Part of the Community

Through select giving back initiatives, Gillson Beach proudly supports the community that inspired it.

Gillson Beach supports local schools, organizations, and charitable causes connected to the Wilmette and North Shore community, giving back to the place that inspired the brand.
